The following content is now out of date. As of March 16, 2020, IRL indoor Hoovie movie experiences are currently only possible amongst folks who are sheltering-in-place together. Outdoor Hoovies may be possible in the coming months, with social-distancing protocols in place to ensure guests are safe.
Given that our whole M.O. is to rebel against the societal forces of “social distancing,” it’s appropriate that we address health concerns related to the coronavirus (COVID-19).
Health officials in our primary region (Vancouver, Canada) report that the risk of transmission remains low. However, we want everyone – hosts, guests, filmmakers and the people who love them – to feel safe above all else.
Besides the standard wash-your-hands and keep-your-fingers-out-of-your-eyes advice, we recommend the following, for the time being:
- Food and drinks: Hosts should encourage guests to BYO rather than share.
- Disinfect surfaces, including buzzer buttons and door knobs, with a commercial grade disinfectant before and after guests arrive.
- Please stay home if you have a compromised immune system or are experiencing any flu-like symptoms.
And of course, we are happy to refund any tickets to guests who are unwell on the day of the event (no questions asked).
